Angi Tianzhu is an award-winning director, writer, and creative storyteller whose work spans both commercial and narrative filmmaking. Growing up in rural Oregon along the historic Oregon Trail with a Chinese mother and a father with Southern roots, her storytelling draws from a rich blend of cultural influences, resulting in a deeply nuanced approach to identity, connection, and character-driven narratives.
Her work has been featured in Time, Variety, and Rolling Stone, earning industry recognition from Cannes Lions, The Webbys, Clios, and Best Web Series at the Five Continents International Film Festival. Notably, she wrote and spearheaded the $5MM branded film The Delivery, starring Oscar nominee Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler) and iconic actor Carl Weathers (Rocky), and directed by Louis Leterrier (Clash of the Titans, The Incredible Hulk).
Angi has led projects for major brands like Netflix, Disney, and Google, and directed commercials for Apple, Jack-in-the-Box, NBC, and Ubisoft. She has worked with industry icons like including Michael Phelps, Sofía Vergara, Neil Patrick Harris, and Taylor Swift, as well as working with The Grammys.
With a strong foundation in journalism from the University of Oregon and film studies at UCLA, Angi’s career has been shaped by a truth-driven approach to storytelling. Her training at The Second City, UCB, and Groundlings honed her ability to craft dynamic, character-rich scenes that seamlessly blend drama and humor.
